For Musicians: Joining the DSO

The DuPage Symphony includes 85 to 90 talented musicians, many of whom have played in the DSO for many years or even many decades. There are periodic openings in the DSO string sections, however, and occasional openings in the woodwind, brass, and percussion sections.

Musicians who are interested in joining the DuPage Symphony as a playing member should register their interest by sending an e-mail to Orchestra@DuPageSymphony.org

The e-mail should include the following information: name, instrument, contact information, and a brief outline of musical training and musical experience, particularly as an orchestral player.
If there is a current opening for that instrument, the DSO Music Director will arrange an audition opportunity. Upon occasion, the interested player may be invited to sit in on a rehearsal or two before scheduling an individual audition.

Names and contact information for all other musicians will be kept on file, in the case of future openings in the DSO.

The DuPage Symphony rehearses on Tuesday evenings, 7:30-10:00 pm, throughout the year – except during the month of August, during the second half of December, and on occasional extra weeks between concert cycles.  An additional dress rehearsal is held before each concert, usually on the Thursday or Friday evening before a weekend performance.

Rehearsals are held at the Wentz Fine Arts Center, 171 East Chicago Avenue, on the campus of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
