Can It Be True?

Peter Illytch Tchaikovsky is one of the most well-known creators of ballet music. Apparently, in 1875, when he was age 35, he and Camille Saint-Säens (age 40), who enjoyed and had a “natural talent” for ballet, got up on the stage of the Moscow Conservatoire, accompanied by Nikolai Rubenstein at the piano, and performed a pas de deux of Galatea and Pygmalion.
