The DuPage Symphony Orchestra Announces “Radiant Reflections” for its 2025/26 Season
The DuPage Symphony Orchestra (DSO) proudly announces its illuminating 2025–2026 concert season, Radiant Reflections, marking the orchestra’s 72nd year of inspiring audiences through live music. In her 39th season, Music Director and Conductor Barbara Schubert leads six performances that explore memory, imagination, culture, and identity through music resonating across time and place. All concerts take place at the acoustically outstanding Wentz Concert Hall in downtown Naperville.
Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 7:30 pm – Tales of Imagination
The season begins with Berlioz’s spellbinding Symphonie fantastique, a musical fever dream inspired by unrequited love. The program also features Henri Tomasi’s expressive Saxophone Concerto, performed by rising star Valentin Kovalev, and Berlioz’s dazzling Le Corsaire Overture.
Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 3:30 pm – Echoes of the Past
Art, history, and national identity come together in this evocative program featuring Hindemith’s Mathis der Maler Symphony and Respighi’s beloved tone poem, The Pines of Rome.
Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 3:00 pm & 5:00 pm – Holiday Magic!
A family favorite returns! Celebrate the season with music representing Christmas, Hanukkah, and winter traditions around the world—plus a special holiday story and a festive appearance by a certain surprise sleigh-bell-ringing guest.
Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 3:30 pm – Radiant Voices
Frank Ticheli’s powerful orchestral fantasy Radiant Voices opens this emotionally rich program. Then, acclaimed soloist Leland Ko joins the DSO for Dvořák’s deeply expressive Cello Concerto in B minor.
Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 7:30 pm – Drama of the Sea
Nature and drama collide with Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture and Britten’s haunting Four Sea Interludes. The concert also features a solo performance by the First Place Winner of the DSO’s 2026 Young Artists Auditions.
Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 7:30 pm – American Reflections
The season closes with a stirring celebration of American music: Margaret Bonds’ Montgomery Variations, Barber’s lyrical Violin Concerto performed by virtuoso Nathan Meltzer, and Copland’s triumphant Symphony No. 3, featuring his iconic Fanfare for the Common Man.
