Marti Sladek
Marti is a retired attorney who started her own employment law practice after having worked as a broadcast journalist and PR executive before going to law school in her mid 40s. As an activist for gender equity, she has served on a number of NGO and public sector Boards and remains active with several public policy advocacy organizations. Marti’s creative passion is dancing Argentine tango, which she took up in her 60s. She has a B.S. Ed. from Kent State University, an M.A. in Journalism from (The) Ohio State University, and a J.D. from Loyola University-Chicago. She has lived in DuPage County since 1979, adjacent to a prairie preserve which she helped to save from development. Her motto is, “It’s never too late to reinvent yourself.”
