Linda Allison
Linda Allison has had a lifelong love of music. Growing up in Detroit, she sang in the Emerson School Choir and the Children’s Choir at church. As she got older, she joined her mother in the Adult Choir—an experience that helped shape her enduring passion for music and community.
Linda began her college studies at the University of Michigan, preparing for a career in education. After a year, she transferred to North Central College and continued her coursework in Elementary Education. After graduating, she taught in Naperville and later in Woodridge while pursuing two master’s degrees at Northern Illinois University—one in Teaching Reading/Language Arts for teacher training, and the other in Administration.
Following her graduate studies, Linda transitioned to the Arlington Heights School District, where she trained teachers and eventually became a principal. She retired from the district in June 2002 but continued mentoring new principals through a statewide training program for five additional years, officially retiring in 2007.
Linda raised her two sons in Naperville, where she remained active in music through the Methodist Church Choir and later the Naperville Chorus.
Today, Linda serves on the North Central College Alumni Board, is a member of the Cress Creek Garden Club and the Aurora Area Retired Teachers Association, volunteers at the Morton Arboretum, and enjoys staying active at her local health club. A dedicated supporter of the arts, she regularly attends musical performances at North Central College, Chicago a cappella, and one of her favorites—the DuPage Symphony Orchestra.
