Alison Vellender
Alison Vellender, a Naperville native, is committed to fostering community in her hometown. She attended Naperville schools, competitively danced, and was involved in Naperville YoungLife. After high school, Alison moved to Milwaukee, WI to attend Marquette University. Alison has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and completed minors in Health Communication and Gender & Sexualities.
While at Marquette University, Alison was involved in different organizations and often took on leadership roles. Alison competed on the equestrian team and served on its executive board. She was an active member of her sorority serving as the Director of PR & Marketing. Alison further expanded her love for dance through several classical ballet and jazz courses.
Throughout her years in Milwaukee, Alison volunteered with various organizations. She completed Service Learning at Milwaukee Center for Independence in their Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke Unit. Alison was also involved in the Marquette Volunteer Corps, where she spent time volunteering in schools, running food banks, and connecting with the community.
Alison has joined the DuPage Symphony Orchestra as the Concert and Community Event Coordinator. She is thrilled to see this season come to life at the concerts. Alison has experience in client relationship management, customer services, and event planning.
Today Alison enjoys water skiing, taking horseback riding lessons, and training her golden retriever puppy, Otis.
