With many people living under lockdown and unable to go to holiday events, I was asked by a local orchestra to perform a short concert on Youtube. Since I desperately miss playing the harp in the pit for annual ballet performances of the Nutcracker, I chose to play short excerpts adapted for harp solo. I hope that you will recognize these selections and hear some of your favorite moments from the ballet. The "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" is always a classic. I adore Tchaikovsky's gorgeous harp cadenza in the "Waltz of the Flowers" and it is one of the reasons why I fell in love with the harp. Thank you for watching." ~Nichole Young, Harpist Camera/Mic: iPhone 7 Video Editing: iMovie Chicago Harpist, Nichole Young: IG: FB: Created in partnership with the DuPage Symphony.
