Family Events

Classical music offers numerous benefits:

  • Listening to music provides inspiration, promotes relaxation, sparks creativity, boosts memory, reduces stress, alleviates depression, and helps those with special needs communicate.

  • Studying music at a young age helps increase vocabulary, reading and comprehension skills, builds self-esteem, promotes creativity, and improves physical dexterity.

  • Performing music teaches self-discipline, teamwork, and emotional expression.

  • Research shows that high school students who study music have higher test scores in science, math, and English.

Hearing music in live performances is one of the most thrilling experiences of all: the music sounds vibrant, immediate, and alive; you can literally feel the passion of the players on stage; and you, the listener, become part of a very special musical journey.

Our KidsNotes includes information about the cultural context of the music to help you learn more about the region - be it Spain, Russia, Japan, Italy, or Germany. Share a picture from our photo booth on social media using #DSOMusicalJourney and be entered to win prizes.
