Experience the Inner Workings of a Symphony

The DuPage Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is delighted to welcome the community to a free Open Rehearsal on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 7:30 pm at Wentz Concert Hall, North Central College. This special evening will feature treats provided by MyChef, an interactive Instrument Petting Zoo, and the chance to hear the exceptional artistry of Rose Armbrust Griffin, the DSO’s Artist in Residence and celebrated violist from Wheaton.

Rose Armbrust Griffin, an accomplished music educator and violist, brings a wealth of experience to the stage. A graduate of The Juilliard School, The Curtis Institute of Music, and Indiana University, she has performed with world-class musicians such as Itzhak Perlman and Joshua Bell, and with groups including The Chicago Ensemble and Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. Her passion for teaching has led her to train students who have gone on to attend prestigious institutions like Curtis and Juilliard.

Attendees will enjoy a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how the DSO prepares for its upcoming performance. Guests can come and go throughout the evening, making it an ideal experience for families with young children or anyone curious about the rehearsal process. The event will also include an Instrument Petting Zoo for all ages to explore and learn about the instruments of the orchestra.

“This open rehearsal is a fantastic way to share the creative process with our community,” says Mari Ullrick, Strategic Director of Operations and Engagement. “We’re thrilled to feature Rose Armbrust Griffin, whose incredible talent and dedication to music education make her an inspiration for audiences of all ages. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to experience the magic of live music in a relaxed, welcoming environment.”
