We can’t wait to share the music with you this Sunday!Join the DSO on Sunday, July 20 at 3:00 pm, for a free summer concert that celebrates sweeping landscapes, timeless Americana, and cinematic charm: The Great Outdoors!
Under the direction of Maestra Barbara Schubert, this one-of-a-kind free concert features works by Copland, Smetana, John Williams, and more—including crowd favorites from Oklahoma! and The Magnificent Seven, along with guest baritone soloist Jeffrey Ray.
UPDATED: There is a chance of thunderstorms before the concert, with 20 mph winds. The high is in the upper 70s, with cloudy skies. Please plan accordingly!
VIP perks include access to a sectioned off grassy seating area under the shade, a hydration station, and reserved bleacher seats if you prefer not to bring a lawn chair. If you’ve subscribed for the 2025-26 season by Sunday, you’re on the list!
A Music Discovery Zone will be available for patrons to touch, feel, play, and examine the instruments prior to and after the concert.
Concert Schedule
- UPDATED – NOW 2:00 PM – Park opens for concertgoers and Music Discovery Zone opens. Feel free to picnic and find your spot on the lawn!
- 2:00 PM – VIP section opens for DSO subscribers, board members, and invited guests
- 2:15 PM – DSO Patron Services tent opens for on-site support, subscriptions, and VIP access
- 3:00 PM – The music begins! The concert has an estimated run time of 90 minutes. Please feel free to come and go as you wish.
- 4:30 PM – Music Discover Zone continues until 5:15 PM.
We encourage patrons to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and settle in for a relaxing, music-filled afternoon.
Parking is first come, first served around the park. Additional parking is available at the Wheaton City Hall parking lot directly adjacent to the park (303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton), which is free on Sundays.

This is a great chance to experience the DSO in a relaxed, family-friendly setting—perfect for new listeners, longtime patrons, and everyone in between.
