The DSO Performs at Naperville Fine Arts Fair

The DuPage Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is thrilled to announce its participation in the 2024 Riverwalk Fine Art Fair, one of the premier cultural events in the region, taking place on September 21-22, 2024. Hosted by the Naperville Art League, this highly anticipated event will feature over 130 local and national artists, presenting a wide variety of fine art in a picturesque outdoor setting. The DSO will add to the vibrant atmosphere with a series of performances by chamber ensembles, highlighting the orchestra’s diverse repertoire and exceptional talent.

Enjoy a variety of popular music, show tune medleys, light Classical selections, and Jazz favorites performed by an array of chamber ensembles drawn from the acclaimed DuPage Symphony Orchestra. Five different chamber groups made up of DSO musicians – and representing the string, woodwind, and brass sections of the 90-member orchestra – will perform at the Free Speech Pavilion at Naperville’s Riverwalk Park. Come enjoy a wide range of appealing music, and learn about the DuPage Symphony’s exciting 2024-25 concert season ahead, “Bold and Beautiful.” 

The Riverwalk Fine Art Fair, consistently ranked among the best in the nation, is a celebration of creativity and community. It attracts thousands of art lovers, families, and community members who come to enjoy the high-quality art, interactive experiences, and live performances. The DSO is proud to contribute to this dynamic event with performances that will appeal to a wide range of musical tastes.

• 12:15 pm – 1:45 pm: Callisto String Quartet
• 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm: ZAZZ Jazz Combo

Sunday, September 22, 2024:

• 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm: DSO Trombone Quartet

About the Artists:

Each ensemble performing at the fair is drawn from the DSO’s 90-member orchestra, which includes some of the finest professional musicians in the region. These chamber groups have been specially selected for their ability to engage and entertain diverse audiences, making classical music accessible and enjoyable for all.

• DSO Woodwind Quintet: Known for their precision and artistry, the DSO Woodwind Quintet delivers performances that highlight the unique characteristics of each woodwind instrument, blending them into a harmonious and captivating whole.
• Callisto String Quartet: A rising star in the classical music world, the Callisto String Quartet is praised for their technical mastery and deep musicality, making them a must-see at this year’s fair.
• ZAZZ Jazz Quartet: This ensemble brings a fresh and exciting approach to jazz, with performances that are as entertaining as they are musically sophisticated.
• DSO Trombone Quartet: The Trombone Quartet showcases the depth and power of the brass section, offering audiences a chance to hear the trombone in a new and exciting context.
