Spring Gala to Benefit Music Education, Outreach in Area Schools

The DuPage Symphony Orchestra, a musical powerhouse bringing musical excellence to Naperville and the surrounding suburbs, invites the public to attend “Community in Harmony: Celebrating the Power of Music,” a springtime gala at The Abbington, 3S002 IL Route 53, Glen Ellyn, on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 6 – 9 p.m.

 

“Under the direction of Maestra Barbara Schubert, the DSO’s Mission is to provide inspiration and cultural enrichment through musical excellence, educational programs, and community outreach,” according to DSO Board Chair Jane Clark. “Featured musicians who perform with the DSO throughout its regular season visit schools in the days before each scheduled performance at Wentz Hall at North Central College in Naperville to inspire students and ensure music is accessible to all.”

 

In its 2024-2025 season, featured artists reached more than 5,000 students through educational residencies, masterclasses, and public events. Their visits sparked meaningful conversations not just about music, but also about confidence, creativity, and emotional wellness.

 

The DSO is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with annual revenue generated through performance ticket sales, grants, and the generosity of its donors. Its musicians volunteer their time to rehearse and perform with this award-winning orchestra, including free family performances each summer at area parks and special venues.

 

The “Community in Harmony” gala will generate much-needed support for the DSO’s community engagement efforts and will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, silent auction, live music, and brief program spotlight.

 

Early-purchase tickets are available for $100 until Jan. 31, 2026. Beginning February 1 through March 20, tickets will increase to $150. Sponsorship packages for individuals and companies are available at discounted rates until Jan. 31, with benefits including program book ads, table signage, acknowledgements during the gala, and social media mentions. Sponsorship prices will increase after Feb. 1.
